I WAS deeply alarmed to read recently in the Times EducationSupplement (TES) that a number of schools are using CCTV on theirpremises, installed on the pretext of monitoring pupil bad behaviourand to spy on their teaching staff.
The report claimed that CCTV is often in areas of school premisesunknown to teaching staff and children, and used by senior managersas covert surveillance of teachers' perfor mance.
Most disturbingly, this report alleged that such locationsinclude staff changing rooms and toilets.
