Wilmington Trust Cyberservices for Corporate Clients Can Reduce Costs, Time, and Risk.

WILMINGTON, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 2001

Wilmington Trust's leading-edge cyberservices for corporate financial services clients will be featured at next week's Asset Securitization 2001 Symposium. Norma Closs, an expert in specialty corporate trust services, will discuss how the company's expertise in Web-based services can save clients time and money, and mitigate risk in complex transactions.

Nearly 2,000 influential investment bankers, attorneys, and accountants will attend the 8th annual conference sponsored by the Strategic Research Institute, which runs from February 11-14, 2001, at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, AZ.

Closs will present case studies and demonstrations of various cyberservices provided by Wilmington Trust, including:

-- Cyberclosing: A confidential, customized Web site for clients that manages and stores transaction details and documents during a deal's pre-closing and post-closing process. This service saves clients time and thousands of dollars in costs because transactions are done in real time in a secure environment, reducing travel and meeting time, review time, and fax and shipping costs. Cyberclosings also eliminate the risks involved with unencrypted e-mail. -- Cybernexus: A Web service to manage domestic and offshore special purpose entities, including trusts and special-purpose entities used by issuers in asset securitizations. -- Webinars: Private and secure Web-based seminars hosted by Wilmington Trust to communicate with current and potential clients on the latest legal and regulatory developments and other topics. The most recent Webinar featured a panel of some of the top corporate trust attorneys in the United States discussing the advantages of domiciling trust vehicles in Delaware.

"Wilmington Trust helps companies that undertake highly complex transactions use the Web to save time and mitigate risk," said Closs. "It's important that each party in a financial transaction--the investor, banker, accountant, and attorney--is comfortable using the latest Internet tools, particularly when thousands of dollars can be saved in the process."

Closs is the head of corporate financial services client development at Wilmington Trust, which provides fiduciary, investment, and administrative services for capital markets trusts, holding companies, domestic and offshore special purpose entities, and employee benefit providers. Wilmington Trust has earned an international reputation as a leading provider of trust services, serving as trustee for more than 11,000 special purpose vehicles.

With 16 years of experience, Closs is a nationally recognized expert who has spoken before the Chicago Tax Club, International Business Forum, Tax Executives Institute, Carolinas Cash Management Association, Delaware Management Accounting Association, Information Management Network, Treasury Management Association, and the National Association of CPAs. She is also a member of Corporate Trust Associates.
