ACT: Police called in over leaks scandal

ACT police have been asked to investigate the leaking of a confidential memo .. threatening
staff with jail and heavy fines if they leaked documents to the media.

A political storm erupted after the territory's public service boss MIKE HARRIS issued the memo.

It was leaked .. and Mr HARRIS has now asked police to investigate .. because it's
a breach of the ACT Crimes Act.

Police say they're assessing the referral .. but if they do go ahead with an investigation
.. it won't start until next week.







Opposition Leader BILL STEFANIAK says the government has double standards on everything
.. and claims it's becoming increasingly hysterical trying to keep a lid on criticism.
